Valentine's Ball: Haywood County Sweetheart Ball fundraiser will be held on Saturday, February 9, from 7-11 p.m., at the National Guard Armory on Morgan St. Tickets are $10 per person. Bring your sweetheart for a great night dancing, eating good food and fellowship, at the same time helping to raise money for the Haywood County Relay for Life. You must be 21 and attire is "casual sharp." You can have your picture taken with your sweetheart for an additional fee. Biofuels in West Tennessee: Haywood County UT Alumni will present a program on Biofuels in West Tennessee Tuesday, February 5. Dr. Jim Byford, Dean of College of Agriculture and Allied Sciences, UT Martin, will be the guest speaker. All UT Alumni and interested parties are invited and encouraged to come and meet Dr. Byford. Social hour begins at 6 p.m. and a buffet dinner at 6:30 p.m. at The Delta Room, behind Backyard Barbecue, 703 East Main St. Cost is $12.50 per person and includes tax and tip. Super Bowl for Jesus: Christ Church, 2120 Anderson Avenue, will host a gospel singing Sunday, February 3, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Christ Church Praise Band will open for the gospel singing group "The Dills." A Brownsville Homecoming: The Brownsville Haywood County Arts Council presents "A Brownsville Homecoming," Saturday, February 2, at 7 p.m. Under the direction of Brownsville native Jennifer Simmons Milligan and Richard Dickerson, Minister of Music Woodmont Baptist Church - Nashville, the evening promises to be a hand-clapping, toe-tapping good time featuring some of Brownsville's best and good old gospel music. Tickets are $12.50 for adults and $6 for students; and are available at Insouth Bank, Livingston's and from at the door.

Landlord Renal Workshop:The UT Extension Service, collaborating with West Tennessee Legal Services, will host a Landlord Rental Workshop Wednesday, February 13, from 2-4 p.m., at the Extension office, 100 South Wilson. Small & Minority-Owned Business Seminar: The Brownsville Business Association will sponsor a seminar for small and minority-owned businesses on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 6 p.m. Small and Minority Owned Business Assistance Program (SMOB) is a program of the Southwest Tennessee Development District and is geared towards Tennessee businesses who do not have reasonable access to capital markets and traditional commercial lending facilities. SMOB consist of two components: loans and program services to all 95 counties in Tennessee. Program services include: financial counseling, assistance with loan proposals, developing cash flow strategies and more. Spaghetti Supper & Cake Walk: The District #7 Volunteer Fire Department of Belle Eagle (old Bradford Shool) will sponsor its annual spaghetti supper and cake walk Saturday, February 23, at 6 p.m. This annual event helps raise funds for the operation of the fire deptartment by covering expenses such as utilities and upkeep of the building. Spaghetti will be served beginning at 6 p.m. and eat-inand carry-out is available. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children (under 12). The menu consist of spaghetti, slaw, crackers or bread and tea. Slices of chocolate pie, pecan pie, banana pudding, lemon pie and brownies will be available for 50 cents each. The cake walk will begin at 7 p.m., and will consist of cakes that are homemade/scratch recipes and have been donated by volunteer firmen and community members.
