A Brownsville Homecoming II: The Brownsville Haywood County Arts Council will present "A Brownsville Homecoming II" Saturday, January 31, 7 p.m., at the Ann Marks Performing Arts Center. A night of gospel singing featuring some of Brownsville's best. The concert is under the direction if Richard Dickerson, Minister of Music at Woodmont Baptist Church in Nashville, Tenn., and assisted by Jennifer SImmons Milligan, formerly of Brownsville. Tickets are $12.50 per adult and $5 per student. Tickets are available at Livingston's, Insouth Bank and the Arts Council office. 2009 Master Gardener Class: Sign-up for the 2009 Master Gardener class to be held beginning Thursday, January 22. If you want to learn about all aspects of gardening and landscaping, this is the class for you. The class will be taught on Thursday evenings at the Haywood County Agriculture Building, 100 South Wilson, Brownsville. If there are sufficient numbers, the staff will also conduct 9 a.m. - 12 noon sessions. Preventing Burglaries: Learn how to protect your home and property at the January 29 meeting of the East Haywood County Neighborhood Watch. The Sheriff's Department will be on hand to give tips on protecting our homes and also talk about drug recognition. Haywood County Solid Waste Director Clinton Neal will give a brief presentation on recycling. Everyone is invited to attend.
