Toddler Time at the Library: Toddler time at the Elma Ross Public Library will be held Monday May 4 & 18, at 11 a.m. Parents are encouraged to bring their toddlers and enjoy lots of stories, songs, puppets, crafts and a snack. Toddler time will only be offered once during the month of January.

Each month promises an interesting speaker and an opportunity to learn something new. This month's speaker is Catherine Foster who will be discussing the Bethel College MBA program and what all Bethel has to offer. Hamburger/Hotdog Lunch: Brownsville Utility's Relay for Life team will host a Hamburger and/or Hotdog Lunch on Friday, May 1, from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., in their parking lot off of North Wilson St. Pre-order your meal by calling 731-779-3711 or 731-772-8845 by Tuesday, April 28. Cost is $5 for a Hamburger OR Hotdog plate with includes, chips and cookie; or $7 for a Hamburger AND Hotdog, plus chips and cookie. All proceeds will benefit Relay for Life.

5K Run/Walk: There will be a 5K Run/Walk Saturday, May 16, at the Douglass Community Center in Stanton. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the event begins at 9 a.m. Free t-shirts will be given to the first 100 entries. Entry donations of $20 per adult and $10 per child (12 and under). Door prizes will be given and medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each age group. Categories are for male and female. Age groups are: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and over. All proceeds from the event will benefit Relay for Life. WRAP Pancake Breakfast: Wo/Men's Resource and Rape Assistance Program will host a Pancake Breakfast to benefit programs for abused women and children Saturday, May 2, from 7-10 a.m., at the VFW Post 1848, Highway 45 North in Jackson, Tenn. Songs of a Lifetime: Songs of a Lifetime will be presented Saturday, May 2, 6 p.m., at Christ Church on Anderson Ave. (Hwy. 76 S.). The evening will feature music by Eddie Martin, Lori Presley, Blair Simpson, The Watkins Family, Reese Ferrell, The Elrod Family, Bobby and Becky Stokely and Jonathan Yates. The themem for this year's event is "Prayer America's HOPE." The event will take place on Thursday, May 7 on the courthouse lawn (in case of rain - inside the courthouse). Rotary 1st Annual Golf Scramble: The Brownsville Rotary Club will sponsor its First Annual Golf Scramble on Thursday, May 21, at the Brownsville Country Club. Registration and lunch at 11:30 a.m.; Tee off at 1 p.m. This is an 18-hole golf scramble consisting of 4 -man teams. All proceeds from this event will be used to fund Rotary's Whells in Motion Project. This project benefits students in East Side Elementary, Haywood Lementary and Sunny Hill schools.
