Trooper John Gregory Mann Downhome Picnic: The Community is invited to the Trooper John Gregory Mann Downhome Picnic, Friday, September 4, 6:30 p.m., at Woodlawn Missionary Baptist Church, off of Hwy. 19 W. at Woodlawn Road. There will be a memorial concert featuring Trooper Mann's mother, Lollie Lee Mann, The Gospellettes of Lauderdale County and Frank Beard on Saxophone. Following the concert, fried fish, slaw and spaghetti will be available. Donations accepted.

How to Write a Resume: INSOUTH Bank in conjunction with Bethel University will be offering a short seminar on How to Write Resumes on Wednesday, September 9. It will be held in the bank's downstairs lounge and space is limited. The speaker will cover action words to include in your resume, how to dress for an interview, proper body language, etc. There will be two sessions with lunch provided at both at 11:00 and again at 1:00.  RSVP at 731-779-1161. Parents, Teens and Sex: Right Choices of West Tennessee is a federally funded community-based abstinence education program that is currently being taught in the Haywood County Schools, grades 6-12. The community is invited to meet Mary Catherine Gatlin of Right Choice and learn about the program and the information that is being given to our children. The program "Parents, Teens and Sex: Raising Abstinent Teens in a Hypersexual World" will begin at 6 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, at Brownsville Baptist Church.

Live on the Lawn: The Brownsville Haywood County Arts Council will kick off this season on Sunday, September 27, at 3 p.m., with "Live on the Lawn" free concert at College Hill. This year a new group will perform - "Blend" is an A cappela, Doo Wop quartet who will bring back fun loving memories of the 50s and 60s. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and families to College Hill for 90 minutes of fun. In case of rain, concert will move to the Ann Marks Performing Arts Center. Class of 1994 Reunion: HHS Class of 1994 will hold its 15 year reunion Friday, September 25, at the Old National Guard Armory, Boyd Ave., from  5-10 p.m. We will be reminiscing about the 'good ol' days!!! Please do not wait until the 20 year reunion to catch up with old friends and familiar faces. We want this night to be enjoyable and memorable, and we cannot do that without participation from EVERYONE. The cost is $25 singles/$45 couples.
