31st Annual Tennessee Trash Car Show: This year will mark the 31st Tennessee Trash Car Show in Brownsville. The event will take place Sunday, October 17. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and judging will begin at noon. the event will take place at the WOW/Elma Ross Public Library. Freedom Fund & Awards Banquet: The Haywood County Branch of the NAACP will hold its annual Freedom Fund & Awards Banquet on Saturday, October 9, at Carver High School Gym, 709 East Jefferson Street, Brownsville. 5th Annual Marla Angotti Memorial 5K/10K Run: This annual run, sponsored by the 15th Review Club and in memory of Marla Angotti, will be held Saturday, October 30, at College Hill Center. The Standards Perform at College Hill: The Brownsville-Haywood County Arts Council will present their first event of the season Thurs., Oct 14 at 7 p.m., at the Marks Performing Art Center at College Hill; "The Standards - Music for everyone." The Standards will be returning to Brownsville after two years. These five brothers will present programs in 3 of our schools on the 14th and then perform that evening. A key element to what makes them appealing to many different age groups is that they primarily sing songs that are known as "Standards" - you know and have heard them. Family Fall Fest: Brownsville Baptist Church invites everyone to the Family Fall Festival on Sunday, October 31 from 5:30-8:00 P.M.. We will have everything that makes for a great festival: carnival-style games, a cake walk, a bouncing castle, candy, hamburgers, hot dogs and prizes. Costumes are welcome- but no scary costumes, please. Admission donation is 50 cents per person with a maximum of $2.00 per family.
