Haywood County Master Gardeners Participate in AG Day at East Side School

Sponsored by UT Extension, students at East Side Elementary School received a taste of farm life Friday, May 9, 2008. UT specialists and staff, along with the Haywood County Master Gardeners, demonstrated different aspects of agriculture from where fruits and vegetables come from to milking a cow. Thanks to the two local implement companies, students were also able to climb aboard a combine and tractor and learn about the equipment first hand. In these pictures, the Master Gardeners show the children the ingredients necessary for a good garden salad and how the vegetables grow.
