Biofuels in West Tennessee

The Haywood County UT Alumni Chapter cordially invites you to meet and hear Dr. Jim Byford, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Allied Sciences UT Martin, at 6 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2008.

Dr. Byford will present a program entitled “Biofuels in West Tennessee.” The event will take place at The Delta Room, behind Backyard Barbecue, 703 East Main, and will feature a buffet dinner. Cost is $12.50 per person.

There has been a rapidly growing interest throughout the United States in ethanol and soy diesel, the most common form of alternative fuels. Rising gasoline prices and diesel prices have largely been responsible for the mushrooming interest but also cleaner air, the war in Iraq, and the declining farm income have played a role.

Dr. Byford will discuss how biofuels are made, how to deliver these fuels locally, and how it affects you.

You will not want to miss this exciting news on the future of biofuel in West Tennessee.
