Easy Haywood Neighbors enjoy Meet and Greet

Members of the East Haywood County Neighborhood Watch had an opportunity to get to know each other better at a Meet and Greet event held Thursday, September 25. County Commissioners Becky Booth and Chris Lea hosted the event held at the Allen/Holly Grove Volunteer Fire Station on Poplar Corner Road.

Over 80 members of the Neighborhood Watch group shared hot dogs, chips and homemade desserts during the informal gathering. Booth welcomed members and encouraged each to introduce themselves to those they did not know. “This is what it’s all about,” Lea told the crowd, emphasizing how much more effective the program is when members are more familiar with each other.

Those present were asked to provide contact information that will better facilitate communication among the watch. Representatives of the Haywood County Sheriff’s Department, including Sheriff Melvin Bond, were also on hand.
