State of African-American Males in Haywood County

Special Invitation is Extended to All Ladies and the General Public to Attend the 4th Forum on State of African-American Males in Haywood County

The fourth forum focused on the state of African-American Males in Haywood County will take place Sunday, June 8, 2008, at 3:30 p.m., in Carver Gymnasium, 709 East Jefferson. Featured moderator for this event will be Dr. James Holloway, Professor Emeritus, Howard University Medical School, Washington, D C. Dr Holloway and his wife, Dr Clara Holloway, are native Brownsvillians. He graduated Carver High School in 1953.

Male attendees have responded overwhelmingly to the first three forums in a very positive manner. The men are extremely excited about the prospect of having the ladies in their lives, wives, mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, nieces, and girlfriends, join them for this forum. This session will focus on “self-help” reduction of early death rates and medical complications through no-cost life style changes.

This series of forums has been hosted by a group of concerned African-American males with special emphasis on attendance by black males. The main thrust of the forum has been an “Acceptance of Responsibility for Those Things We Can Change” and “Self Help”.

The format will remain the same. Seeking to capture the essence of family discussions over a dinner table, seating is arranged in a large circular pattern permitting open interaction and discussion in a family-focused format. This session will be videotaped and available on DVD.
