Haywood County Marches for Babies

Each week in Tennessee, 221 babies are born prematurely according to the March of Dimes. During its annual fundraiser, March for Babies, formerly WalkAmerica, Haywood County raised more than $21,000.

On Saturday, October 4, 2008, beginning and ending at College Hill, teams from industries, businesses, churches and leaders throughout the community gathered to celebrate all babies, those born healthy and those who need our help to survive and thrive.

The Brownsville march was lead by our Ambassador family; Kelvin, Karol and Anna Evans. The money raised will be used to help give all babies a healthy start in live.

According to the Tennessee Chapter of the March of Dimes, more than $1,100,000 was invested in program services, research grants, community grants and local and professional education in 2007-2008. Through these grants the March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies.
