9th Annual Rendezvous

At Fall Creek Falls March 7-8

 

TNDEER.COM, one of the nation’s largest websites dedicated to white-tailed deer hunting and other outdoor pursuits will hold its 9th Annual Rendezvous at Fall Creek Falls State Park on March 7-8, 2008.

The event, as is use of the website, is free.

Food, fun, live entertainment and plenty of deer talk will abound at the annual event sponsored by the Tennessee-based website.

The festivities on Friday, March 7, is traditionally called the “Pre-’Vous”, and includes a social gathering beginning at 6 p.m.

Country music artist Kevin Blake Weldon will perform both days. Weldon performs a variety of country music including many parody hunting songs under the alias “Bad Bob and Jimmy”.

On March 8, events start at 9 a.m. Guest speakers will include author, biologist and whitetail management expert Bryan Kinkel as well as several of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s top deer biologists.

The Tennessee Fur Harvesters will be on hand with a booth, demonstrating trapping and skinning techniques.

In addition to the other events, there will be a silent auction and door prizes for a variety of outdoor items.

TNDEER.COM is a very unique website with some of the region’s most knowledgeable deer hunters visiting it regularly. It provides deer hunters with a wealth of knowledge as well as “The Best Campfire On The Internet.”

Its members have helped with a variety of conservation projects, including Pennies Against Poachers; donations to TWRA law enforcement; and charity work for a wide variety of conservation causes.

This year, TNDEER.COM members raised funds to purchase a Lifetime Sportsman’s License for Kyson Stowell. The child, known as the “Miracle Baby”, is a survivor of the tragic tornadoes that ripped through Tennessee in February.

Stowell and his grandparents will be in attendance to receive the license.
