Haywood After-Hours Clinic Celebrates First Year With An Open House
The
Haywood After-Hours Clinic will hold a Health & Wellness Open House today,
Thursday, July 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. They are located at 2555 N. Washington
Suite #3, directly across from the ambulance entrance of the Haywood Park
Community Emergency Room. The public is invited to meet the staff and take a
tour of the clinic while enjoying free refreshments, health educational
screenings, and an opportunity to win two $50 Wal-Mart gift cards.
The
clinic will be also be offering blood pressure, diabetes, motor skills, and
nutritional health stations, as well as hand washing demonstration for
children.
“With
the upcoming school year and flu season just around the corner, everyone should
get a review in how to wash their hands properly,” said Joyce Coleman, Haywood
After-Hours Clinic nurse practitioner. “We really love being a part of the
Brownsville community. The open house is an opportunity to show our gratitude
for their support!”
The
Haywood After-Hours Clinic celebrated its one-year anniversary last month and
so far has served more than 1,300 patients in Haywood County with overwhelming
rave reviews.
The
urgent care clinic offers extended afternoon, evening and weekend hours for
prompt medical attention when an illness or injury arises that is not life
threatening after doctor office hours. Welcoming both insured and uninsured
patients, the clinic provides treatment for a variety of illnesses or injuries
such as asthma, insect bites/stings, minor burns, cuts/bruises, flu, sore
throats, ear infections, coughs, bladder infections and rashes.
“Educating
patients is one of the joys of working here. We have a strong clinic and I
enjoy answering patients’ questions,” says Coleman.
Even
during the Wellness & Health Open House, the Haywood After-Hours Clinic
will be open during its regular hours, which are Tuesday through Friday from
3:00 PM until 11:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday from noon until 8 PM. No
