Insouth Bank
report
United Way giving
Members of Haywood County’s United Way team are
celebrating success in this year’s campaign. Haywood Company and InSouth Bank both have reported their campaign
results, and it’s very positive.
Haywood Company employees were celebrating success
when they wrapped up their annual United Way campaign. At the celebration, Wayne Jernigan and
Alan Baker announced that the company raised over $76,590 in its yearly
effort. Those who participated in
the effort were entered in drawings for a variety of prizes. Clint Walker won the grand prize
television, and Netsha Taylor won the JVC Camcorder.
Haywood Company’s report to the community includes
$69,597 in pledges from employees and a $7,000 corporate donation. Haywood Company’s United Way
Co-chairmen Jernigan and Baker are very proud of the company’s
performance.
“Our
team members make our United Way effort so successful each year,” said
Jernigan, Haywood Company.
“Because our team is so active, we are able to share hope and be proud
that we are working to make things better for our friends, neighbors and
community. We are proud to partner
with United Way and encourage others to do the same.”
InSouth Bank recently announced their campaign
results, too. This year, the bank
raised over $11,600, which is a 28% increase over last year’s pledge. The pledge includes $10,667 from the
employees, and a $1,000 corporate gift.
“I’m so thankful for the generous people that give every year
to support our local United Way campaign,” said Alan Callery, Haywood County’s
2006-07 United Way campaign co-chairperson. “It is such a rewarding experience to be involved with an
organization that helps meet such a variety of needs. I also appreciate the fact that our
money stays in Haywood County and local people are the ones making all
decisions concerning our United Way.”
Under the direction of Will Jones, Haywood County
raised more than $167,000 in its 2005-06 United Way campaign. That money is being invested in 22
agencies and programs that are meeting the most important needs of Haywood
County. Those agencies and
programs include Boys & Girls Club, the Ben Rich Center, WRAP, and the
Brownsville-Haywood County Rescue Squad.
