Brownsville welcomes international visitors

Wednesday, June 14, 2006, Brownsville welcomed four visitors from various
regions of the globe; Harun Yildirim, Board Member of the Student Union of the
Netherlands; Marijana Bozinovska, Training Program Manager for the Regional
Economic Development Agency in Prilep, Republic of Macedonia; Linda X. Hlongwa,
Media and Publicity secretary, Inkatha Freedom Party Youth Brigade, Durban,
South Africa; and Ahmed Ennouri, Speaker of the Hall 7th of
November, Sfax, Tunisia. The young leaders are part of Youth Empowerment, a
multi-regional project. Also accompanying them was Ronn Francis, an English
language officer, and Mrs. Silverman, Memphis Council of International
Visitors. During the six hour visit to Brownsville, they were treated to lunch
at Brownsville Family Restaurant, toured the Industrial Park, College Hill
Center, YMCA, Technology School and the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center.
The group also talked with city, county and industrial leaders before leaving.
