Carl
Perkins Center “Making a Difference”
Saturday,
October 28, is National Make a Difference Day. To commemorate this event, the
Exchange Club – Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse will be
conducting a food drive to benefit needy families in our community.
Participation
is easy! Bring your donations of canned sweet potatoes, green beans and
cranberry sauce along with instant potatoes, sugar, flour, tea, bags of
marshmallows, any items needed for a holiday dinner to the Center on November
20.
The
Center is also asking local churches to participate in this effort by
designating a special place for your donations to be collected and announce
this location to your congregation. If possible, appoint someone to deliver the
donations to the Carl Perkins Center after November 19.
“Thank
you in advance for participating in National Make a Difference Day and for making
a difference in our community,” says County Director Linda Burns. “With your
help and participation, this collaborative effort will truly make a difference
for our neighbors in need.”
The
Carl Perkins Center is located at 51 Kleer Vu Drive, in Brownsville, and is
open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. For more information, please call
731-772-8378.
The
Center will be delivering the Thanksgiving baskets November 22.
