Thank you to the Chamber of
Commerce and local radio station owner Carlton Veirs for sponsoring a
fantastic marketing seminar last night. I think all that attended will agree
that Larry Woods and Susan Davie are knowledgeable presenters and offered
very practical advice. I’m sure a lot of business people are rethinking their
advertising strategies this morning. [See pictures from the event] Along those same lines, I’d like
to announce a new feature that will soon appear on the All About Brownsville website. Beginning June 1, when you visit the Business and Service
Directory page, you will see a link to coupons and deals being offered by
local businesses. This service will allow you to save time and save money.
Local coupons when you need them and as often as you need them. Isn’t it nice
to know that saving money is only a click away? Just think. What if you could
save money every time you hit the print button? If you enjoy the convenience
of the online coupons, let the merchants know. And for those times when your
computer’s not so handy, pick up a copy of the June coupon flyer at
participating merchants. |

Annual Golf Tournament
Now is the time to sign up for the 2006 Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center’s Annual Golf Tournament that will be held on June 22, 2006 at the Brownsville Country Club. All proceeds benefit the Haywood County Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center.
Teams will compete in an 18-hole, four-man scramble that begins at 11:00 a.m., with registration and lunch, and a noon shotgun start. The fee for a four-man team is $240.00. Registration forms are available at the Carl Perkins Center, contact them at 772-8378. Mulligans will be available on the day of the tournament for $5 each.
Another way to support this tournament is to be a hole sponsor. This is a great opportunity for advertisement, as well as helping to improve the lives of children in Haywood County. As a hole sponsor ($100), your business will be advertised at one of the greens throughout the course and includes a sign with your business name. Support the Center as it continues its mission of community service, advocacy and education.
Pet Spotlight:
“Joy. Thy
name is Lucy. It seemed to us that our one wonderful Lab was enough dog for us, but we fell in love with the picture of Lucy on the All About Brownsville link. So, we took the plunge, and what a remarkable delight she is. This little girl, well-behaved, affectionate, cooperative, athletic and perfectly charming, moved in and won both us and Stumper over in a day. How satisfying to know that our lives can be enhanced while, at the same time, we provide a happy life for one of God’s creatures.” Thank you
to the Humane Society for sharing this note and update on Lucy. There are
plenty more like Lucy waiting to find homes. Gracie is in the spotlight again
this week. She is learning to walk with a leash and from what I hear is a
really smart little girl. See a new picture and read more about Gracie. We also have a new picture of Calvin this week. Isn’t your home and heart big
enough for one of these new additions? Check out
