I remembered going to the Miss Tennessee pageant once -
many years ago. That one pageant in no way qualified me, or even prepared me,
for the position of a pageant emcee. Nonetheless, I was asked to emcee, for a
couple of hours, during the Miss Hatchie Pageant held back in April. I
was at a complete loss as to what to say or do. I guess I didn't do too badly
because I was asked to emcee again at the Miss Brownsville Belle Pageant held
this past Saturday. Talk about out of my comfort zone. But I have to admit, I
really enjoyed it and am glad to have had the opportunity. On October 25, we will crown the 2009 Hatchie Fall Fest
Royalty and I’d like to invite you to participate in the pageant. Here’s an entry form, if you are
interested. Crestview Health Care sponsors the pageant and all proceeds go to
the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. I told you last week about the winner of this year’s
t-shirt contest. Visit the festival webpage to see the winning
design, plus the runner-ups. Carl Perkin’s Center annual golf tournament is coming up
September 11. Learn more about the tournament. The “celebrity” waiters and waitresses did an
outstanding job during the first Breakfast for Babies event held yesterday morning
at RJ’s Hibachi. They helped raise $1,680 for the March of Dimes. Another really big deal coming up Sept. 16 is the
Dealer’s Show at MTD/Cub Cadet. Over 1,100 dealers will be on the grounds of
the Brownsville plant to see demonstrations, try out the equipment and tour
the facility. According to Greg Vanstory, the last time this group was in
Brownsville was in the late 90s. This is part of a bigger event being held in
Memphis. Maybe in another 10 years we will have a facility big enough to
accommodate the entire show. ~ Sonia Join the Conversation: AAB Blog |
