Volume 4, Issue 22

Big night coming up next Friday -- Relay for Life! There are yard sales this weekend and the Survivor’s Luncheon on Thursday. If you've never been to a Relay event, you've missed a very special time. If at all possible, make plans to go this year. There will be food and entertainment and it all begins at 5 p.m., Friday, June 13, at the football field. The special luminary ceremony is scheduled for 10 p.m.

Do you have children grades 1-9 who would like to be a Tomcat Cheerleader or a child age 6-14 who wants to play football? Haywood Youth Sports will be signing up players and cheerleaders every Saturday in June from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the WOW Building on Boyd Ave. For more details, call 780-4454 or 780-7406.

Have you been hearing about the local forums taking place about the State of African-American Males in Haywood County? This Sunday will mark their fourth session and the gentlemen are inviting everyone to attend, including the ladies. Learn more.

I have recently become very interested in why people volunteer and especially what makes them feel their efforts are worthwhile. I’d love to hear your stories, please visit the AAB Blog and tell me what makes you feel appreciated.
