The local Humane Society is in desperate need of foster
parents for Labrador Retrievers, puppies and adults. These Labs will
eventually go to Labs for Rescue, a group who places Labs in homes all over
the country. This is great for our shelter animals that are healthy and
adoptable. The rescue groups cannot take an animal directly from the shelter,
therefore the need for foster parents. Alice Nunn, president of the B-HC
Humane Society, tells me that the Humane Society will pay for food, shots and
any other expenses associated with the pets while in your care. The only
requirements from you are time and, of course, love. An animal can only stay
at the shelter for 14 days before it is “put down.” If you have a fenced yard
or inside area where you can keep one or more of these animals temporarily,
please call Alice at 780-9037. The Wednesday Morning Musicale will present their second
concert this Sunday at First Presbyterian Church. Performing will be Alice
McClanahan, Ronnie Richards, Boyd Richards and Jeff Binford. It promises to
be very entertaining. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door. If you have a child who still needs to use a car seat,
be sure and go by Wal-Mart today between 10 a.m. and noon, and let the
Brownsville Police check your seat and make sure it is properly installed.
This is a great service our police department offers. For your child’s
safety, please take advantage of this. I’m preparing for a few days off next week. You’ll find
the calendar below a little longer than usual for that reason. Have a great
weekend and I’ll talk to you again in a couple of weeks. ~ Sonia Join the Conversation: AAB Blog |
