Volume 5, Issue 18

I’m so sad about the news that MTD/Cub Cadet of Brownsville will be closing in July that I hardly know where to start this week. I’ll just ask that if you are receiving this e-mail early enough, please take time to go by the National Guard Armory this morning for a Community Prayer Breakfast. It begins at 6:30 a.m., and Dr. Walter Kimbrough is the guest speaker. More about the breakfast is below.

Community Prayer Breakfast

The Faith Committee and the Youth Coalition at Haywood County Schools is hosting a Prayer Breakfast on Friday morning, May 8, at the National Guard Armory, 221 Morgan St., starting at 6:30 a.m. The theme of this year’s National Day of Prayer is from Psalm 33:22, “May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you.” As we gather for a meal, prayer and fellowship we will hear Dr. Walter M. Kimbrough, President of Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas, share his thoughts on the ways all generations in community share God’s guidance as we mentor young people to live meaningful lives. All Business, Civic, Faith, Fraternal and Governmental groups in Brownsville are invited to bring handout material describing the work we share in Haywood County. There will be no cost for the breakfast. A love offering will be received. Our program will end in time for folk to be at school or work before 8 a.m. All who are able, are invited to stay and share fellowship beyond the 8 O’clock hour. For information call or email Rev. Brent Porterfield: bporterfield@haywoodcoaltion.org or 780-3696.
