Volume 6, Issue 10

I have to tell you about how much fun I had last Thursday night making tissue flowers with the 10th Review Club. I had not even thought about those flowers since I was a teenager and it brought back some great memories. Remember there was always a cart at the entrance to Libertyland filled with these brightly colored tissue flowers on a stick? I always wanted to buy one and was so happy when I figured out how to make them. That's the thing about those flowers, they always make you smile, even thirty-something years later. We had a great time and the flowers were used as decorations for the Carl Perkins Dinner and Auction Saturday night. I appreciate the review club holding their meeting at the Heritage Center that night and letting me join the fun.

Now, let me tell you what a great evening Saturday night was at the Carl Perkins Dinner. Food was delicious and I really enjoyed seeing everyone dressed in their  60s attire. It was a huge crowd and best of all, over $24,000 was raised. All the money stays in Haywood County and will benefit families right here. Thanks to everyone who donated both silent and live auction items.
