The business in the spotlight for this month is a retail
business known as A & B Printing, Packaging and Shipping. A & B opened
for business in downtown Brownsville on May 3, 2006, and is comprised of many
years of printing experience. One of the owners, Mr. Doyle Burroughs, went to
work at the Brownsville States-Graphic newspaper in 1942 at the age of 13 and continued
his career there for 47 years. Mr. Burroughs later owned and operated
Brownsville Quick Printers for 10 years until his retirement. Retirement did
not last long however as he joined up with his grandson, Matt Alexander, in the
forming of A & B Printing, Packaging and Shipping.
Matt brought to the business his experience with service and repair of appliances as well as heating and air conditioning systems. Matt’s wife, Kristy Alexander, is also a co-owner of A & B and is there daily taking orders and handling the day-to-day operation of the business.
