Toddler Time at the Library: Toddler time at the Elma Ross Public Library will be Mondays, September 1 & 15, at 11 a.m. Parents are encouraged to bring their toddlers and enjoy lots of stories, songs, puppets, crafts and a snack.

Lunch 'N Learn at the Library: Lunch and Learn is planned for Wednesday, September 24, at noon at the Elma Ross Public Library. Each month promises an interesting speaker and an opportunity to learn something new. Remember to bring your lunch and the library will provide your drink and dessert. Brownsville Business Association: The Brownsville Business Association will conduct it's regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 16, at 5:30 p.m. All members are urged to attend. Everyone is welcome. The meeting will be held at the Delta Room, 703 East Main St., behind Backyard Barbecue.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4838: Monthly meeting of veterans who have fought in foreign wars to conduct business and plan for future events that involve veterans or veteran's programs. Golf Tournament: Now is the time to sign up to be a part of the 2008 Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center’s Annual Golf Tournament that will be held on September 11, 2008 at the Brownsville Country Club. All Proceeds benefit the Haywood County Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center. Teams will compete in an 18-hole, Four-man scramble that begins at 11:00 a.m. with registration and lunch provided with a 12:00 shotgun start. Mulligans will be available for $5 each. The fee for a four man team is $240.00. Businesses or individuals can sponsor a hole for $100. Registration forms are available at the Carl Perkins Center in Haywood County or First South Bank.
