National Association of County Agricultural Agents (NACAA) President Chuck Otte congratulates Haywood County Extension Director Walter Battle. Battle’s wife, Doris, joined him for the National Conference held recently in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where Battle received the Distinguished Service Award.

 

Battle Receives National Distinguished Service Award

 

Walter Battle, County Director for the University of Tennessee Extension Brownsville office, received the NACAA Distinguished Service Award (DSA) at its recent National Annual Meeting and Professional Improvement Conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan, July 15-19, 2007.

 

The Association featured his work in ornamental horticulture and landscape design. His “Sustaining Landownership” and “Community Leadership” programs were praised as being “innovative and progressive.”

 

Battle was also the recipient of the Tennessee Association of Agricultural Agents and Specialists (TAAAS) DSA this past spring.
