The
Leadership Haywood County Board of Trustees recently announced the 2006-2007
Adult Leadership Class. Past graduates of the program gathered at the chamber
office to congratulate and welcome the 11 new members at an Alumni Reception
held in their honor on Tuesday, August 15, 2006.
The
new class prepared for their 6-month participation in the program with an
orientation session Tuesday afternoon. Together they will learn how Haywood
County operates and what obstacles and challenges are faced daily.
Each
month, participants will spend a day touring and talking with local leaders as
they explore the key aspects of our community including: economic development,
the justice system, local and state government, health, welfare and culture,
and our school system. Members will also spend a day learning to think outside
the box and be creative as they form their own visions of leadership.
