Author/Living
Historian to visit Brownsville Library
Author
and living historian Bryce A. Chandler will appear in costume at Elma Ross
Public Library in Brownsville Monday, June 16th, at 1 pm and will talk
about the life of a drummer boy from the Civil War, telling from the drummer's
own view what life was like during the war of the 1860's. Come listen to the
heart-rending pitch of his historical six-whole fife, and the inspiring roll of
his home-made replica snare drum.
He
will also be available for a question/answer session and to sign his new
book, A Courier for Stonewall, an interactive adventure where
"You are the Star!" Chandler's book allows readers to be transported
into the past as they endeavor to bring a message to the legendary Stonewall
Jackson. Will they succeed or fail desperately?
M.
Ray Jones, former Arkansas Division Adjutant with the Sons of
Confederate Veterans said, "Finally a book written about the 'War for
Southern Independence' for our youth that will both hold their attention and
also allow them to participate in and determine the outcome of the
stories."
Chandler,
a drummer boy re-enactor, historian, and author, is now writing his second book
on the war which will be published soon. He has won the Arkansas Sons of
Confederate Veterans Essay Contest three out of four years since 2004 and
lives with his family in Northeast Arkansas. To find out how you can invite
Chandler to your library, school or group, visit www.southerncadencepress.com.
