Committee members
gathered on the courthouse steps Friday afternoon, August 15, 2008, to
congratulate Mary-Wyatt Pettigrew, winner of the Hatchie Fall Fest T-shirt
Design Contest. Pettigrew was rewarded with $100 and the honor of having her
design appear on the front of this year’s festival t-shirts. Pictured with

Rodney Walker, Heather Smith, Daniel Thornton and Adam Smith.
Nine-year-old Mary-Wyatt Pettigrew is the winner of
the first Hatchie Fall Fest T-shirt Design Contest. Pettigrew’s drawing of a
guitar was chosen from among 17 entries. Her talents won her $100 and her
design will be featured on the front of this years t-shirt.
“We were pleased with the response to the contest,” says Hatchie Fall
Fest committee member Sonia Outlaw-Clark.
“The committee was impressed with the talents of all the entrants and
the time each put into their work.”
Judges also chose three runner-ups: Megan Mathis of Jackson, Tenn.; Mark Kendrick of Brownsville; and Tommy McRae of Decatur, Ala. All entries will be on display during the Hatchie Fall Fest, October 18, at First State Insurance and will be sponsored by First State Bank.
