Hatchie National Wildlife Refuge
Public Meeting
Hatchie National Wildlife Refuge is seeking public input on several proposed recreational changes. A special Public Meeting will be held Thursday, February 12, 2009, at the UT Extension Office, 100 South Wilson, Brownsville. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. The presentation will begin promptly at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
A
presentation followed by a question and answer period will focus on, but not
limited to, expanding and increasing the cost of user permits, Oneal Lake dam
restoration and fishery management, opening special youth deer hunts and
fishing rodeos, expanded archery hunting, general fishery management, expanded
waterfowl hunting, volunteerism and special events requests.
You
are cordially invited to attend this presentation, openly discuss your thoughts
and ideas with Refuge Manager Mike Chouinard. If you’re unable to attend,
submit written comments to the Refuge Office at Hatchie National Wildlife
Refuge, 6772 Highway 76 South, Stanton, TN, 38069.
Public
input is critical to providing recreational opportunities that are appropriate
and compatible with our Refuge purpose, while promoting quality wildlife
dependent recreational opportunities such as hunting, fishing, wildlife
observation and photography, and environmental education and interpretation. We
welcome constructive comments, positive or negative, and look forward to
engaging you in an open forum.
