Haywood High School to hold

Scholastic Book Fair

The public is invited to Haywood High School’s Scholastic Book Fair, which will be held in the library the week of Nov. 16-20, from 7:45 to 3:30 each day. The Book Fair will feature a wide variety of books specifically selected to appeal to middle and high school interests, including Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series and the Bluford High books. In addition, the fair will have adult bestsellers as well as multicultural titles, gift and holiday items.

All proceeds will benefit the Haywood High School Library. Visitors are welcome any time during the day. Please stop by the main office and check in.

As students grow older, it is so important to keep books in their lives. Students who remain readers now are more likely to be lifelong learners. Readers develop larger vocabularies, a greater knowledge of the world, and higher academic achievement. In fact, studies indicate that being a reader is more predictive of success than intelligence, economic background, or gender.

The HHS Library Club has been involved in the planning and running of the Book Fair and has put much time and energy into creating a special event. We hope you will reward their efforts by making their first ever Book Fair a big success.
