Amazing Race participant has local ties

If you are an Amazing Race fan you know that the new season starts February 28. What you might not know is one of the new participants has ties to Brownsville. Monica is from Fayetteville, Arkansas, and a University of Arkansas student who was just walking through the mall one day when she was approached to be on the show. How’s she connected locally? Monica’s aunt, Jo Anne Finn, and cousin, Tara Joyner, live in Haywood County. And you can bet these local family members, plus a whole lot more, are excited about the show. Finn says her sister, Marilyn, would, “get a call once a week and they would say ‘this is the Amazing Race and Monica is fine.’” That was the only contact. Monica isn’t allowed to tell how she did, where they went or anything about her adventure. We’ll all just have to wait to find out. Amazing Race airs Tuesday nights on CBS.
