Incumbents Return for Four More Years

Webb Banks, Mark Davis and Joe Taylor will retain their seats on the city board for the next four years as a result of the Tuesday, June 20, 2006, City Election.

Banks, who was challenged by Rev. Ricky Reed, returns for a fourth term as Mayor of Brownsville. Davis successfully defeated Hal Jarratt and Carolyn McKenzie for the Ward 2 Alderman’s seat and Taylor was unopposed for his Ward 4 Alderman position.

With over 6,000 registered voters in the city, only 2,337 chose to vote in this year’s mayoral election. The unofficial breakdown of wards is listed below. The Election Commission must certified the numbers before the results are considered official.
