of Haywood County

Haywood County Reading Railroad is a program offered through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Reading Railroad was established in Haywood County, Tennessee, in 2004. Since it's inception, approximately 60% of the eligible children have signed up to receive their free books. There are enough books available for every child who is under 5 years of age in Haywood County.

When children move out of Haywood County, and do not contact Reading Railroad, their books are returned by the post office. These NEW books are for sale and can be purchased at the Elma Ross Public Library. Proceeds help to continue the Reading Railroad program.
