Buddy is
Home!! Nora Bond spotted Buddy Saturday morning in a field off of
Fairgrounds and he is now safe and sound at home. His family is so very
thankful and appreciative of everyone who called with info and helped with
the search for Buddy. While on the
subject of pets, Bunko players will be happy to know that the Humane Society
is sponsoring a tournament on Thursday, April 19, to benefit the local animal
shelter. Call 780-1312 for more information. I hear that the
Ballroom Dancing class, sponsored by the Arts Council, was so successful
there will be another class offered in May. So if you are interested, call
772-4883 or 772-4588 to sign up. Did you know
that the museums at College Hill are open on Sunday afternoons? There are
many of you who have never seen our Lincoln Collection, the Sports Museum or
the Haywood County Museum. Please make time to see these treasures. The
museums are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed 12-1 for
lunch) and Sundays from 1-5 p.m. (except holiday weekends). They will even
open on Saturday for groups if you call ahead and schedule it. Linda Wyatt
knows that even with the recent cold snap, warmer weather and fresh
vegetables are not that far off. That’s why she is sharing her Zucchini and Tomato Bake recipe this week. Your generosity
has once again put United Way campaign contributions over the top. At 100% of
goal and counting, the final amount raised will be announced soon. In the
meantime, get out your cameras and start taking pictures of what matters to
you. Enter the United Way Photo Contest. ~ Sonia |
