Brownsville & Haywood County April 20, 2007 Volume 3, Issue 15 |
|
I mentioned a while
back that I was working on some changes to All About Brownsville. Those
changes include a new look for this newsletter and the website. Some of you
will notice the newsletter changes this week. It will take several weeks
before all of you are receiving the new format. As you see the changes, let
me know what you think. And don’t forget to keep sending recipes and your event info for the community calendar. Suddenly the town is
painted flamingo pink. Have you seen them? InSouth Bank's Relay for Life
"You've Been Flocked" fundraiser is going well and will continue
through April. So there's still time to have a friend, or anyone else,
"flocked" - call Linda, 779-1141, or Heather, 779-1157. There’s a Relay for
Life Silent Auction going on at First South Bank. Now through May 4, you can
bid on a handmade quilt, 2 pillows and a carry bag. The quilt is on display
at the bank, or call Tina Evans for more information, 772-2919. This week's recipe
is Grilled Cornish Game Hen. I'm looking forward to trying this recipe. I love
Cornish hen, but have never tasted it grilled. For the energy
conscious among us (and I hope there are many), the movie premier of "Kilowatt Ours" is this Sunday at First United Methodist Church. It
promises easy answers to dramatically reducing your energy bill. 1175th Needs Our
Help Once
again our local National Guard Unit has been called to duty. They need our
help with these items before they leave for the Middle East. Please bring all
donated items to the Chamber, 121 West Main St., before Friday, April 27.
