Volume 3, Issue 30

Okay, I just cannot get over the fact that this summer, and this year, has just zoomed past me like greased lightning. Is it really August and time for school to start? Bet I’m not nearly as sad about the days passing so fast as the kids having to go back to school on Monday. So, just in case, like me, you are just waking up to this realization -- school starts this Monday.

If you are a member of the HHS Class of 1998, your help is needed in planning your 10 year reunion.  Contact your fellow classmates at www.myspace.com/stacmot1998.

If you haven’t done so already, mark your calendar for October 20 and make plans to be on the court square for the Hatchie Fall Fest. Vendor spaces are still available and volunteers are needed to work the information booth and the hospitality room. Please contact Heather at hatchiefallfest1@aol.com, if you can help for a couple of hours that day. And if you are musically inclined, there are a couple of entertainment time slots left too. Go to the Hatchie Fall Fest website for more info about what’s going on.

Now, back to the present. Haywood Movement’s first day is tomorrow, August 4, on the court square. I’ve been telling you about this for weeks because I believe this is a great opportunity for everyone. Several vendors are scheduled to be there, a children’s story reading is planned, the Humane Society will have pets available for adoption, and lots more. If you wanted to have a booth but forgot to sign up, don’t worry. Just bring your wares and a table and we’ll find a spot for you. To everyone else, get out sometime between 7 a.m. and noon and come see what all is going on downtown. Let the kids bring their bikes, skateboards, roller blades, etc., and everyone enjoy a Saturday morning on the square. I’ll be working at the information booth, so come on by and say “hello.”
