Recipe of the Week: Easy Baked Manicotti

The Boys and Girls Club’s Annual Steak and Burger Dinner is just around the corner on August 30. Tables and tickets are still available and Dr. Cynthia Bond Hopson as guest speaker promises an entertaining time. The boys and girls will also be performing several musical numbers. Call 772-0052 for more information and to reserve your table. All proceeds will go towards the continuing programs of the Club.

Last weekend’s Haywood Movement may have had a slow start, but those who did come out were more than enthusiastic about the success and continuation of this event. A special thank you to the merchants who opened early and put out sidewalk sales. Already people are committing to the August 18 event. We hope our farmer with all the watermelons, cantaloupes, tomatoes and other produce will be back and that more will join him. The Hatchie Fall Fest will be there with information and contest entry forms for the upcoming festival. Locally produced Tennessee Gold sauce will have a booth and will also feature a new snack called the “Koolickle.” Kids of all ages are welcomed to bring a blanket or lawn chair, enjoy a free popsicle and listen as volunteers read during “StoryTime on the Courthouse Lawn.”
