Volume 3, Issue 32

We have closed on our new home and will be moving this weekend. Finally I get to unpack all those boxes … eventually. It has taken so long to prepare for this move that I intend to take my time and unpack as I need things. I know, sounds crazy. Yes, I probably should just jump in there and unpack and get everything in order. That would be ideal. But, quiet honestly, I’m sick of it. So, I figure that I’ll unpack the things I use everyday and the others will wait until I need them. I’m just thrilled that all my stuff will be in one place again, whether it’s in a box or not.

Due to the heat, organizers of Haywood Movement have elected to cancel Saturday’s event and have tentatively set the next Haywood Movement date for September 15. I’ll let you know what’s going on and remind you as that date gets closer. I have to tell you that your response and enthusiasm for the event since August 4 has been tremendous and I’m looking forward to the next one. Remember if you want to set-up a booth or sponsor an activity, e-mail Marieta: haywoodmovement@bellsouth.net.

If you know anyone suffering through the heat without an air conditioner or fans, Nancy Cates, Director of Parks and Recreation, tells me they are offering their building on Boyd Avenue for anyone who wants a cool place to stay during the day until 8 p.m. at night. Call, 772-6693, for more information.

The new Hatchie Fall Fest t-shirts are now available at a special pre-festival price of $13. I don’t have a picture yet, but keep check on the festival website and I’ll post one as soon as I can. There will also be an order form there or you can e-mail me, sonia@allaboutbrownsville.net, to place an order. The new shirts are gold with a scarecrow design on the back.
