I had a very interesting conversation with
Mr. John Ashworth this week. John is the National President of the
Dunbar-Haywood County Training-Carver High School Alumni Association, and he
is busy getting ready for tomorrow’s grand opening of the new Museum and
Cultural Center located on the Carver campus at 709 East Jefferson. I’ve
always known there was a tremendous amount of history associated with Carver,
but I was totally overwhelmed with the information that John shared and at a
loss as to where to begin to tell you about it. With John’s help, I hope to
be able to share more about the school and alumni’s history soon. In the
meantime, I hope you will make the time to visit the new museum and see and
read some of the interesting documents on display there. Visit the Dunbar Carver Alumni website, too. ~ Sonia |
