Volume 3, Issue 5

It’s Ground Hog Day, are we in for six more weeks of winter weather? Seems strange to ask that, since we are really just seeing, and feeling, winter’s cold. I’m all for spring … the sooner the better.

There’s a grand opening this morning. Pizza Pro is now inside Hooper Quick Stop on West Main St., at 9 a.m. Please join them for the special event.

I hope you’ve visited the Reading Railroad page on AllAboutBrownsville.net. This week we’ve added a few more features. First, you have no more excuses for not signing up any child you know under 5. The application is available for you to print, fill out and return to Haywood County Reading Railroad. Then, browse through book titles that are available from Reading Railroad. These are new books that the post office returns when a child moves out of the county or is otherwise unreachable by mail. Each book is just $2 and available at the library. While browsing the page you will also find a link for an application to join the Friends of the Library.

Here’s another recipe from the Bonne Amies new cookbook. Try this one on Super Bowl Sunday, Hot Bacon and Swiss Dip. If you are interested in purchasing the cookbook, “Any Excuse for a Party,” the details are at the end of the recipe. Enjoy … and don’t forget to e-mail me your recipes.

Remember, I also depend on you to let me know about community events and news. I’ve made it easier for you to submit the information with this online form.
