Attention potential Master Gardeners, the 2007 class is
scheduled to begin on February 1. So it’s not too late to register. Call the
Extension office at 731-772-2861. It’s very informative and a great course
whether you’re a backyard gardener or want to get more serious about it. And
on top of that, it’s a lot of fun. The United Methodist conference is sponsoring a seminar
for those concerned about our environment and what our role is in the
protection of it. The Caring for Creation Conference is open to everyone and
will be held on Feb. 18-19, at the retreat center in Dancyville. Go here to learn more. If you are looking for a night out on the town, the Arts
Council invites you to “Some Enchanted Evening,” Tuesday evening, January 30,
at 7 p.m. This musical production will highlight the works of Rodgers &
Hammerstein. Call the Arts council office for more ticket info, 731-772-4883. I want to extend a special welcome to Kim Anthony, new
CEO at Haywood Park Community Hospital. This is Kim’s first week on the job
and I have heard some very nice comments from those who have had the opportunity
to meet her. Welcome, Kim! I hope you will be very happy in our little corner
of the world. Here’s this week’s recipe. It’s for all you guys getting
ready for the Super Bowl. Make this tasty dip and you’ll be the hit of the
party. Thanks to John Gallaspy for sharing. If you like this feature, send
one (or more) of your recipes to sonia@allaboutbrownsville.net Don’t forget about postcard month at Sugar Creek. Help them top
last year’s 1,500 cards. ~ Sonia |
