Recipe of the Week: Marinated Tomatoes Haywood Movement is “on the move” and has
set Saturday, August 4, for the first event. There is still a lot of planning
to do and volunteers are needed. Several areas, such as Farmer’s Market,
health related booths, skateboard, biking and walking areas, and arts and
crafts vendors are in need of participants. The event is designed to help
bring Brownsville and Haywood County downtown for fun, fellowship and a whole
host of possibilities – a very worthwhile project that needs your help to
work. Best of all, it’s all free. Please e-mail haywoodmovement@bellsouth.net to find out what
you can do to help or if you would like to have a booth. Booth applications are also available
online. The Boys and Girls Club announced this week
that Dr. Cynthia Bond Hopson will be the guest speaker at their annual Steak N’ Burger Dinner August 30. Dr.
Hopson is a very well-known Haywood County native and author. If you haven’t
met her, this is the perfect opportunity plus you’ll be helping a good cause.
Tables and individual tickets are available, call 731-772-0552 to reserve
your seat or for more information. ~ Sonia |
