Are you ready for Relay? Tonight’s the much anticipated night and everyone will be walking and having a good time as we help fund the research that will someday find a cure for cancer. Until then, Relay for Life continues to draw the community together. Join your friends, family and neighbors for the opening ceremonies at 7 p.m., this evening on the football field.

I want to personally thank you for all your hard work for this event. Whether you are a team member or simply supported one of the many fundraisers. You’ve made a difference. Thank You.

One of the fundraiser was “Flocked for a Cure.“ Those pretty pink flamingos mysteriously flocked to unsuspecting homes all around the city and county. Yours may have been one of them. I’m sure you saw them as they traveled about. What you may not have seen, or realized, was that spelled out in pink flamingos on the lawn of the last house flocked (on West College) was the word “Hope.” This single, small word sums up perfectly what Relay is and why our teams work so hard each year for this event.

May you always have HOPE!
