Recipe of the Week: Fresh Lemon Ice Cream July is fast approaching and that could only
mean it’s time for the Tennessee Walking Horse. This year’s Classic is
Friday, July 13 and promises to be another great show. As usual, all proceeds
from concessions go to the Carl Perkins Center for Child Abuse Prevention, so
plan on taking the whole family for this fun event. I understand Relay for Life reached and
surpassed its goal this year with over $81,000 raised. Congratulations to all
involved. Great Job! The board room at the chamber has officially
been named in memory of former Mayor Jimmy Halbrook. Friends, family and
officials gathered Thursday, June 21, to pay homage to the good works of
Mayor Halbrook. During Halbrook’s administration, he was instrumental in
seeing that the Carnegie Library building was preserved as a useful space
when the new library was built. The space has definitely been useful, and
continues to be, as home for our Chamber of Commerce – a fitting place for
the “Jimmy Halbrook Room.” Hope you have a safe and fun 4th
of July. ~ Sonia |
