Volume 3, Issue 9

The production of GREASE comes to College Hill this weekend as the Haywood High Drama Department presents their version of the classic musical.

And, don’t forget to get your hamburgers or dinner franks for lunch Saturday, from 10-2, at Wal-Mart. This year’s leadership class is sponsoring this fundraiser to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Brownsville. And if you are planning on getting your lunch on March 15 from the Relay for Life Cookout at the hospital, you better get your order in by this Thursday. All orders are being taken in advance, so call Glenda at the hospital, 772-8432.

When I first saw the name of this week’s recipe, I thought “yuck.” I like eggplant, but in small doses and not on a regular basis. But after reading it, I’m thinking this may be tonight’s supper. Christie Bradshaw’s family loves it and I bet yours will, too. Try Eggplant Supper Soup.

March seems to be the month for some great weekend activities. Go to Grease this weekend and next weekend plan to be at the Carl Perkins Center’s annual auction, dinner and dance. Tickets are available now and this year’s theme is “Denim and Diamonds in Manhattan.”

This year’s Hatchie Fall Fest is set for Saturday, October 20. If you are interested in helping plan this year’s event, we need you! There are lots of areas to get involved. If you or your business would like to help sponsor the festival, or if you are interested in sponsoring a contest or activity, we need your help. We also have vendor spaces available if you have a product or service you want to promote. Last year over 3,000 attended the day-long festival and we expect many more this year. Call me, 780-5144, or e-mail, if you are interested. And keep an eye on the Hatchie Fall Fest website.
