Recipe of the Week: Parmesan Onion Dip

I hear this is a big weekend for yard sales. If you thought about having one and waited too late for a permit, you can rent booth space at Dynametal’s big sale for $10. Your rental fee goes to Relay for Life and you can pick up a few extra dollars, too. The sale’s tomorrow so you better call now, 779-3503 or 772-3780 ext. 102 or ext. 385.

Graduation is on a Monday this year. That seems a little strange to me, I guess I just got used to it being on Thursday. But I’m sure you’ll not hear any complaints from the seniors. They’ll be glad to walk down that aisle, no matter what day it is.

With graduation coming up, Mother’s Day next weekend (May 13) and weddings galore this summer, many of the local merchants are hosting special events and sales to give you an extra opportunity to shop with them. So, whenever possible, please try to shop Brownsville first. Retailers, if you have special events planned this summer, please let me know.

Don’t forget about the Library celebration Monday. Let’s all show up at 4 p.m., and see just how many it takes to give a library a hug.

Mrs. Judy Bishop has served many years keeping our election process on track. There will be a reception in her honor this coming Thursday afternoon at the courthouse. Please go by and thank her for her service.

Everyone is receiving the new newsletter format this week. So far, there have been few problems. I hope that holds true this week, too. But, if you do run into a problem, please reply to this e-mail and let me know about it. You’ll notice there are quick ways to forward to friends and to join the subscriber list, so please share. We want everyone to know what’s happening in Brownsville and Haywood County.
