Recipe of the Week: Saucy Stir-Fried Pork Haywood Company’s Haywood Helping Hands relay team is
selling fully-cooked Boston Butts for Memorial Day weekend. The deadline to
order is Friday, May 18. All proceeds will benefit Relay for Life. Go here for more information. There is also a very important health
awareness day planned for tomorrow, May 12, which everyone should be
interested in. It will begin at noon at West Haywood Community Center and
will focus on the epidemic of STDs in Haywood County. More details below. Thank you for your positive feedback on the
new web design and newsletter format. Remember to keep me informed of
upcoming events so I can highlight them here (use this form) and keep sending
me your recipes. Who has some good cool summer recipes? Remember our local Guard Unit as they make
their way to the Middle East and pray for their safe return. It was so much fun to participate in the
library hug on Monday. I have to admit it took a minute for us all to find
our place and figure out just how do you hug a library, but we did it and I'm
glad I was able to be there. When you see Katherine Horn or any member of the
library staff, thank them for the great job they do. Here are a few pictures from the
event. ~ Sonia |
