Relay Kick-Off is this morning at the
hospital. Be sure and go by to show your support. This year’s goal will be
announced and plans will begin for the 2008 Relay for Life event. Haywood Movement this Saturday from 7-12.
Several booths will be set-up Saturday morning, so come out and enjoy the
crisp morning temperatures and do a little shopping. It’s Hatchie Fall Fest time in Brownsville.
To start things off, the scarecrow contest is tomorrow evening, and everyone
is invited to the judging. The Master Gardeners will be serving hot dogs and
homemade ice cream beginning around 3 p.m., and we’ll have music playing,
too. Be sure and come by to vote for your favorite scarecrow. If you are
entered in the contest, be sure your scarecrow is ready for judging at 5 p.m.
Hatchie Fall Fest t-shirts will also be on site for sale. The big excitement this week happened
Tuesday when the Presbyterian Manse was moved from its site on West College.
I have been amazed the last month or so as preparations have been made and
the house readied for moving. Needless to say, I did not get much work done
Monday and Tuesday due to all the excitement. Lots of others also turned out
to watch it make its trip down West Main on the way to its new home in the
county. Check out these “Festival of Savings” during festival
week, Oct. 13-20. And don’t forget to join the fun Saturday, October 20, for
the Hatchie Fall Fest. ~ Sonia |
