If you’ve never entered your
child in a pageant, now’s the time to do so. The Mr. & Miss Hatchie
Pageant will be held Saturday, April 26, at the Ann Marks Theater. Boys, ages
0-9 years, and girls, age 0-21 years, are invited to participate in this
benefit pageant. All proceeds will go to Relay for Life. The pageant is
sponsored by Crestview Healthcare. Get an application online or call 731-772-3356. This Friday, April 25, is Child
Abuse Prevention Day. Be sure and go by the Carl Perkins Child Advocacy
building on Boyd and pick up your t-shirt to wear that day. Child abuse is an
unfortunate reality in our county and it’s important that we help spread awareness
of this. In doing so, perhaps we can in some small way help to prevent it.
The t-shirts are $15 each. Call the center at 731-772-8378 for more info. If
you are not a t-shirt wearer, lapel pins are also available. I told you last week about this
year’s Leadership graduates. Here’s a picture of the group and a little more
information about the graduation. It’s always nice to put a face with a name. Great news this week about
Hampton Inn coming to Brownsville. They will build on Hwy. 76, coming in from
I-40 and Exit 56. Word has it a couple of new restaurants will also be on the
property. It will be interesting to see the development of this site and I
look forward to hearing more about it. ~ Sonia |
