The Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center invites you to its annual dinner and auction on Saturday, March 15. This year’s theme is “Fabulous Fifties” and whether you remember them first hand or not, it’s sure to be a fun time. Reserve a seat or a table. Tables of 8 are available for $320 or $80 per couple. This is the 10th year for the event, which also includes a silent auction. For more information and to reserve your seat, call the center at 731-772-8378.

Speaking of the Exchange Club — Paul Lott has received the honor of “Exchangite of the Year.” A quarterly award is given to hard working club members and the yearly award is then chosen from those quarterly winners. Paul has earned this honor through his dedication and efforts in the community and the Exchange Club’s programs. Congratulations to Paul!

District 7 Fire Department is hosting its annual Spaghetti Supper and Cake Walk this Saturday beginning at 6 p.m. District 7 is in the Belle Eagle community and the fire station is the old Bradford School where the event will take place. Another Spaghetti Fundraiser will be Thursday, Feb. 28, when First Presbyterian Church Relay for Life team will host an all-day event with lunch served from 11-2 and supper from 4-7. Dine-in and carry-out will be available at both events.

The business association heard a very interesting talk from Sharon Taylor McKinney Tuesday night. Sharon is a business specialist with the state and has some great new financing programs available for start-up and existing businesses. If you think you might be interested in learning more about these programs, contact Sharon through the chamber, 731-772-2193.

I’d like to introduce you to Iris Photography. If you need wedding photography or any special occasion photos, Holly & Will Haak have over 14 years experience in the business and will officially celebrate their Grand Opening Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Chamber building, 121 West Main. Please go by around 10 a.m., welcome them to Brownsville and view some of their work.

Spaghetti Supper & Cake Walk

The District #7 Volunteer Fire Department of Belle Eagle (old Bradford School) will sponsor its annual spaghetti supper and cake walk Saturday, February 23, at 6 p.m. This annual event helps raise funds for the operation of the fire department by covering expenses such as utilities and upkeep of the building. Spaghetti will be served beginning at 6 p.m. and eat-in and carry-out is available. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children (under 12). The menu consists of spaghetti, slaw, crackers or bread and tea. Slices of chocolate pie, pecan pie, banana pudding, lemon pie and brownies will be available for 50 cents each. The cake walk will begin at 7 p.m., and will consist of cakes that are homemade/scratch recipes and have been donated by volunteer firemen and community members. This is a fun-filled evening for all the family to enjoy and a great way to support the local volunteer fire dept. For more information, contact Patricia Herron at 772-4345 or 780-7400.

Senior Caregiver Support Group Meeting

The Brownsville Senior Center invites all caregivers to attend a seminar on Physical Fitness conducted by Cindy Wilkins of the Haywood County Health Department. Lunch 'N Learn at the Library

Lunch and Learn is planned for Wednesday, February 27, at noon at the Elma Ross Public Library. Each month promises an interesting speaker and an opportunity to learn something new. Iris Photography Grand Opening

Iris Photography is a husband and wife team who specializing in wedding photography. Spaghetti Fundraiser

First Presbyterian Church Relay for Life team will host a Spaghetti Fundraiser on Thursday, February 28 beginning at 11 a.m., at the church. Tickets are $6 per plate and includes spaghetti, salad, bread, drink and dessert. Dine-in and carry-out will be available. Tickets are available in the church office, 109 West College St. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., and dinner will be served from 4-7 p.m. For more information, contact Hayden Hooper at 772-3031. All proceeds benefit Haywood County Relay for Life.

Lifeline Screenings
