Volume 4, Issue 26

Hope everyone enjoyed the 4th. I know I did. It’s been hard to get back into the swing of things this week.

Quick Reminder: Tuesday, July 15 is the last day to enter the Hatchie Fall Fest T-shirt Design Contest. Drop your design by A&B Printing, 50 South Washington, or Regions Bank, on the square.

I know by now you’ve heard me talk about Connected Tennessee. Deanna Ward, who is our Connected TN representative, will be the guest speaker at this month’s Brownsville Business Association meeting and I would like to issue a special invitation to you to hear her speak -- even if you already have broadband. Once it is available to everyone in the state, the ripple effect both economically and socially will have a tremendous affect on us all. So don’t think that you have nothing to offer in this initiative. You are important. Join the BBA and Deanna Ward Tuesday, July 15, at 5:30 p.m., at the Delta Room to learn all about it.

The Chamber and Parks and Recreation are gearing up for a big day Wednesday, July 16. It’s the annual Kids Day, and this year marks three years of showing the kids they are important and offering then a safe and fun day of activities. It starts at 10 a.m., so bring the kids to Volunteer Park. If you can, volunteer to help for a few hours.

If you are thinking about school shopping, don’t forget you have another Tax Free Holiday coming up August 1. Learn more here.
